President Ton Duc Thang's memorial area is located on Ong Ho island in My Hoa Hung commune, Long Xuyen city. People here often call it the Bac Ton area for short. There are temples, souvenir houses and an old wooden house where President Ton Duc Thang lived during his childhood. The house was built by Uncle Ho's father, Mr. Ton Van De, in 1887. It has a "quoc"-shaped architecture, wooden frame and floor, and a tiled roof. Behind this house there are four graves of Uncle Ton's father, mother and younger brother and his wife. The memorial area began construction in May 1997 and was completed in August 1998 on the 110th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang. The temple has an old three-storey structure with precious wooden details. The solemn position has a bust of President Ton Duc Thang, above is a dragon scroll with the golden words "President Ton Duc Thang", both sides of the sash are carved with the image of a bamboo tree. Around the theme are decorated symbols of the five blessings (luck, fortune, longevity, prosperity, security). From Long Xuyen city, by many waterways such as O Moi ferry, Tra On ferry, visitors can go to Ong Ho island to visit the memorial area of President Ton Duc Thang's house.
