04/11/2026

On November 3, 2026, the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion, in collaboration with An Giang Telecommunications (VNPT An Giang), organized a training session on the management and utilization of the An Giang Smart Tourism Portal (https://checkinangiang.vn). The event took place at the VNPT An Giang conference hall in Rach Gia Ward, An Giang Province.

This practical initiative was designed to implement the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, issued by the Politburo on December 22, 2024, which focuses on achieving breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. Furthermore, it aims to enhance the effectiveness of digital technology applications in the management, promotion, marketing, and development of tourism in An Giang Province.

Attendees included Ms. Nguyen Tam Tuyet Trinh, Deputy Director of the An Giang Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion; Mr. Mai Tuan Kiet, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association; and Mr. Le Dong Ho, Director of the Solutions Business Center at VNPT An Giang. Also present were representatives from various government agencies, local authorities, tourism enterprises, accommodation providers, tourist sites and attractions, as well as other organizations and individuals operating within the province's tourism sector.

Speaking at the training session, Ms. Nguyen Tam Tuyet Trinh emphasized the critical role of digital technology in tourism management and promotion—specifically in ensuring the rapid, accurate, and comprehensive delivery of information via digital platforms. She further affirmed that the Smart Tourism Portal serves as a vital tool for connecting regulatory bodies and businesses with tourists, ultimately contributing to improved service quality and the overall competitiveness of the destination. She urged the participating units to proactively review, standardize, and regularly update their data to ensure that all information remains accurate, consistent, and reflective of current realities. Furthermore, she encouraged trainees to engage actively in practical exercises, master administrative functions, and effectively apply the knowledge gained to the ongoing management and updating of information within their respective organizations.

During the training session, participants received an overview of the purpose, role, functions, and features of An Giang Province’s Smart Tourism Portal. They were guided on how to manage user accounts, update passwords, maintain login security, and input essential organizational information. Additionally, the program focused on instructing participants on how to upload, edit, and supplement information regarding tourist destinations, products, services, accommodations, restaurants, tours, travel itineraries, visitor experiences, events, festivals, and various cultural, sports, and tourism-related activities across the province.

Notably, participants engaged in hands-on practice directly within the system, performing tasks such as logging into accounts, updating organizational details, creating or modifying data profiles, uploading images and descriptive content, and navigating the workflow for submitting information for review and publication based on assigned access rights. Any challenges or questions encountered during the process were addressed through direct discussion and guidance, ensuring that participants could gradually master the procedures and confidently carry out these tasks within their own organizations following the training.

Through this program, the An Giang Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center aims to enhance the awareness and digital application skills of the staff in charge, as well as those within the tourism business community. It also seeks to establish a collaborative network of focal points responsible for the regular provision, review, and updating of information. Through this process, the province’s tourism database is being gradually standardized and refined to ensure it is comprehensive, accurate, synchronized, and up-to-date.

Effectively leveraging the smart tourism portal not only enables government agencies, organizations, and businesses to proactively promote their image, brand, products, and services in the digital space, but also makes it easier for residents and tourists to search for information and select tourism services. This initiative serves as a key solution for advancing digital transformation within the tourism sector, innovating methods for promotion and outreach, and enhancing both the quality of service and the overall competitiveness of An Giang’s tourism industry in the current period.
