Discussion on "Stimulating tourism and promoting the image of Phu Quoc in 2026" with the theme "Phu Quoc as a destination that is up to standard - friendly - responsible".

22/08/2026

In the near future, An Giang province’s tourism sector will continue to collaborate with the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, localities, associations, businesses, and tourism partners to intensify promotion and marketing efforts. Key initiatives include organizing targeted media campaigns, developing attractive tourism stimulus programs, and fostering product chain linkages—all aimed at increasing visitor numbers, extending lengths of stay, and boosting tourist spending. Notably, as Phu Quoc prepares for major international events—including APEC 2027—enhancing the quality of the destination starting in 2026 is of critical importance. Comprehensive attention must be paid to service quality, infrastructure, the environment, transportation, landscapes, behavioral culture, and the overall visitor experience, thereby gradually transforming Phu Quoc into a professional, friendly, safe, and responsible international destination. The seminar "Stimulating Tourism and Promoting Phu Quoc’s Image in 2026" serves to strengthen the partnership between regulatory bodies and the business community, creating new momentum for the promotion and development of Phu Quoc tourism. It also helps disseminate the message of a dynamic, attractive, and culturally rich Phu Quoc that is ready to welcome both domestic and international visitors.

On August 21, 2026, in the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, the An Giang Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion—in collaboration with the provincial tourism association—organized the seminar "Stimulating Tourism and Promoting Phu Quoc’s Image in 2026," themed "Phu Quoc: Elevating Standards – Friendliness – Responsibility." The seminar aimed to strengthen linkages among state management agencies, tourism enterprises, service providers, and partners in the areas of tourism promotion, marketing, and demand stimulation. At the same time, discussions focused on solutions to enhance product and service quality as well as the destination image of Phu Quoc for 2026, aiming to better serve both domestic and international tourists. Speaking at the seminar, delegates noted that Phu Quoc possesses favorable conditions to further solidify its position as Vietnam's premier island tourism destination. Beyond its natural assets and increasingly diverse range of accommodation, entertainment, and tourism products, Phu Quoc needs to continue improving service quality and fostering a tourism environment that is civilized, safe, friendly, and professional. Experts, business representatives, and attendees focused on solutions to stimulate tourism demand; innovate communication and promotional strategies for Phu Quoc; develop signature tourism products; strengthen linkages among travel agencies, accommodation providers, transport services, attractions, and ancillary services; and accelerate the application of digital technology in promotion and market outreach. A key point emphasized at the seminar was the need to build an image of Phu Quoc that is not only visually appealing but also characterized by high service standards, friendly hospitality, and a commitment to environmental and community responsibility. These factors are considered crucial for enhancing competitiveness and ensuring the sustainable development of Phu Quoc's tourism sector. The seminar also provided a platform for tourism businesses to share challenges, propose solutions to operational bottlenecks, and explore opportunities for collaboration in developing demand-stimulation programs and tourism products tailored to specific market segments.
