An Giang’s Strategic Direction for Preserving and Promoting the Value of Relics and Heritage (2026–2030)

09/08/2026

To preserve and promote the value of heritage while linking it to socio-economic development goals, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan for the preservation, renovation, restoration, and promotion of historical-cultural sites, scenic landscapes, and intangible cultural heritage in An Giang province for the 2026–2030 period.

During this period, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the vigorous implementation of measures—spanning from the provincial to the grassroots levels—regarding the preservation, renovation, restoration, and promotion of heritage sites. Key priorities include enhancing coordination among departments, agencies, local authorities, and relevant entities; improving state management capacity and effectiveness; and mobilizing broad societal participation in these preservation and promotion efforts.

Key tasks and solutions include: raising public awareness and encouraging community participation in the preservation, renovation, restoration, and promotion of heritage sites and intangible cultural heritage; enhancing the effectiveness of state management and strengthening heritage management bodies; implementing inventory, planning, investment, and preservation activities in conjunction with environmental protection; adjusting protection zones and installing boundary markers for heritage sites; intensifying efforts to preserve and promote intangible cultural heritage; and mobilizing social resources to support the preservation, renovation, restoration, and promotion of heritage sites and intangible cultural heritage. Specifically, the Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion is tasked with leading and coordinating with relevant agencies and units to promote historical sites and intangible cultural heritage through promotional events and digital platforms. Concurrently, the Center will strengthen collaboration with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Culture and Sports to conduct market research, connect travel businesses, and develop and operate tourism products linked to these historical sites and intangible cultural heritage.
