On February 22nd, the An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism announced that during the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday in 2026 (February 14th - 22nd, 2026, corresponding to the 27th day of the 12th lunar month - the 6th day of the 1st lunar month), An Giang province welcomed over 1.7 million visitors, a 37.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, international visitors increased by 28.6% compared to the same period last year, with nearly 98,600 arrivals; visitors to tourist areas and attractions reached nearly 1,456,000 (a 35.2% increase compared to the same period last year); and the number of overnight stays exceeded 248,600 (a 51.6% increase compared to the same period last year).

Total tourism revenue is estimated at over 2,622 billion VND (a 39.0% increase compared to the same period last year); the average room occupancy rate reached 78.4%.

Specifically, Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone is estimated to have welcomed nearly 365,820 visitors (a 29.9% increase compared to the same period last year), including nearly 93,000 international visitors (a 24.3% increase compared to the same period last year).
