HA TIEN TOURISM IS FLOURISHING

15/01/2026

In the early days of 2026, from the beaches and scenic spots to the accommodation system in Ha Tien ward (An Giang province), a bustling atmosphere permeated the coastal town, showing promising signs for Ha Tien tourism in the new year.

* VIBRANT TOURISM

Early mornings in the first days of 2026, Mui Nai beach was filled with the laughter and chatter of tourists. On the shore, groups of families took advantage of the opportunity to capture the first moments of the year on the beach, while children played in the gentle waves. Along the central roads of Ha Tien ward, cars lined up heading towards Thach Dong, Da Dung, or the ancient temples with their ringing bells. These are familiar destinations, but they always offer a fresh feeling every Tet holiday.

At Thach Dong, there was a constant flow of people. Tourists climbed the stone steps, stopped to take photos, and listened to tour guides tell stories related to the history and culture of this borderland. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung, a resident of the city... Ho Chi Minh City resident, while taking photos of the mountains, shared: “My family chose Ha Tien for our spring trip because it has both sea and mountains, giving a peaceful feeling. This year, returning, I find the town cleaner and the services more attentive.”

As the seaside town lights up, the coastal food streets and Ha Tien specialty restaurants are bustling with customers. The aroma of grilled seafood mingles with the sea breeze, and the sounds of vendors calling out their wares, mixed with laughter and conversation, create a vibrant atmosphere. The increase in tourists has led to a high demand for accommodation. At An Nhien homestay, the reception staff is busy.

Mr. Duong Hong Diep, manager of An Nhien homestay, said: “Since the end of December 2025, room bookings have increased. During the New Year holiday, the homestay was fully booked for many days, mainly with families and small groups. The good news is that many previous guests have returned, proving their satisfaction with their experience in Ha Tien.”

The vibrant tourism season at the beginning of 2026 is spreading to service and commercial sectors, creating jobs and income for local people. From souvenir vendors and restaurant owners to transportation service businesses, everyone is clearly feeling the return of the tourist season.

According to the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Ha Tien Ward, during the 2026 New Year's holiday, Ha Tien welcomed nearly 30,000 tourists; of which, the tourist destinations of Mui Nai, Thach Dong, and Da Dung received more than 21,300 visitors. These positive signs from the beginning of the year not only bring joy to those working in the tourism industry but also open up expectations for a prosperous 2026.

* PREPARING FOR ACCELERATION

2026 is identified as a period of accelerated tourism development, and Ha Tien is proactively preparing, from infrastructure to the quality of services and tourism products. Along the roads leading to the tourist area, landscaping and environmental sanitation efforts have been intensified. Many attractions have been equipped with additional signposts and support staff, facilitating travel and experiences for tourists.

The ward focuses on improving the quality of its tourism workforce. Accommodation establishments, restaurants, and service points are encouraged to standardize service procedures and maintain civilized and friendly conduct. Authorities are strengthening inspections and reminding businesses to display prices, ensuring a healthy tourism business environment and building trust among tourists.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Mong Quyen, Director of the Ha Tien Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, the unit advising the Ward People's Committee on tourism promotion is moving towards a more diverse and flexible approach, connecting with localities within and outside the province to form inter-regional tourism routes and destinations. Exploiting the strengths of coastal and island tourism, as well as cultural and spiritual tourism associated with scenic spots and historical relics, continues to be a priority. The thorough preparations made since the beginning of the year are expected to help Ha Tien tourism not only thrive during peak seasons but also develop more steadily and sustainably in 2026.

“The Ha Tien Trade and Tourism Promotion Center will innovate tourism products, promote the image of Ha Tien associated with beach tourism and cultural and spiritual tourism. Simultaneously, we will coordinate efforts to improve service quality and create a positive impression to encourage tourists to return,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Mong Quyen.
