Phu Quoc Prison, formerly known as Cay Dua Prison, was a detention center for over 40,000 political prisoners during the Indochina War. Visiting this place, you will feel the patriotism, resilience, and the physical and mental suffering of the soldiers imprisoned and tortured here, as evidenced by the reconstructed statues.

In the six years from 1967 to 1973, over 4,000 people were tortured to death, and tens of thousands more suffered lifelong injuries and disabilities.

In 1995, the prison was recognized as a national historical site and opened to visitors, allowing them to learn about and commemorate the events and heroes who sacrificed their lives here.
