Located at the source of the Mekong River, An Giang province is not only famous for its rich natural landscape with rivers, plains and mountains, but also a land of convergence of cultural identities of many ethnic communities living together such as Kinh, Khmer, Cham and Hoa. In the context of tourism development associated with the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values, the community tourism model associated with indigenous cultural experiences is gradually taking shape and affirming its important role in the province's sustainable socio-economic development strategy.
Not only stopping at sightseeing, community tourism in An Giang opens up a journey of discovery about the people, life and traditions of the local people. When coming to Cham village in Chau Phong (Tan Chau), visitors will enjoy fish curry, tung lo mo, Namparang cake, or admire the traditional art of brocade weaving passed down from generation to generation.

At Cu Lao Gieng (Cho Moi) - Community tourism is gradually being formed and developed, taking advantage of the ecological, historical and cultural tourism potential of the island. Community tourism activities focus on introducing the lives of local people, visiting historical sites such as Cot Day Thep, Tan My communal house, Cu Lao Gieng Church, Chua Quan Quan Monastery, Phanxico Monastery, Thanh Hoa Pagoda, Phuoc Thanh Pagoda...
It can be said that, in addition to bringing authentic and emotional experiences, the community tourism model also contributes to creating sustainable livelihoods for rural people, while preserving and promoting traditional cultural values that are gradually fading away. Many localities in the province have proactively built unique tourism products such as: Da Phuoc Cham Village Market, Chau Doc River Crossing Colorful Floating Village, My Hoa Hung Agricultural & Tourism Cooperative... initially attracting the attention of domestic and foreign tourists.
In general, in the context of globalization and strong urbanization, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values through community tourism development is not only a suitable direction but also a sustainable solution for local socio-economic development. With diverse potential in landscape, cultural identity and hospitality, An Giang is gradually affirming its position as a typical destination of the Mekong Delta region in the form of community tourism associated with indigenous cultural experiences.
Continued investment, reasonable planning and raising public awareness will be important premises for this model to develop in a professional direction, harmonizing cultural preservation and economic development, contributing to building An Giang into a bright spot on the cultural tourism map of the whole country.
